Joe Ricchio
Lecturer Ricchio is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach. As a selected participant of International Programs, he spent a year studying Art, Design, Language and History in Florence, Italy.
Early in his career, he worked for Ron Loosen Associates designing various products for the high tech industry. In 1982 Ricchio Design was established as a design consultancy working in a variety of design disciplines including product, graphic and furniture design, located in Seal Beach, California.
Ricchio Design has worked with major contract furniture manufacturers in the United States such as: Arcadia, HBF, ICF, Izzy, Knoll, MTS, Peter Pepper Products and others. Ricchio’s work has been seen in Contract and Interior Design magazines. Over his career, he has received numerous design awards such as the Roscoe Award, IBD Product Design Award, IDSA Design Excellence Award and multiple Best of Neocon Awards.
As a member of the Design Department he has taught Furniture Design since 2003. In 2004 he established the "Ricchio Design Retreat," taking selected students to design venues such as the 'Salone del Mobile' in Milan, Italy and 'Neocon World Trade Fair' in Chicago.
