The 59th Annual Comparative World Literature Conference

The 59th annual Comparative Literature Conference, titled Ecocriticism and Popular Culture, will take place April 23–25, 2025. 

Schedule of Events:

  • Wednesday, April 23, 5:30 p.m., MM-100 – Film screening of Seeds, a horror-comedy by keynote speaker Kaniehtiio Horn.
  • Thursday, April 24, 2:00 p.m., Anatol Center – Keynote lecture by Kaniehtiio Horn: “Seed Keeping as Language Growing: Land, Language, and Indigenous Representation in Pop Culture.”
  • April 23–25 – Conference paper presentations. In-person sessions on April 23–24; online presentations on April 25.

Conference participants include faculty and students from Comparative World Literature, English, RGRLL, Linguistics, and Communication Studies.

Co-Sponsors: American Indian Studies; The Clorinda Donato Center for Global Romance Languages and Translation Studies; Departments of History, English, Journalism and Public Relations, Environmental Science and Policy, and RGRLL; and the President’s Commission on Sustainability.
