Distinguished Alumni

CSULB's highest alumni honor, the Distinguished Alumni Award is bestowed biennially to seven individual alumni each representing their academic college. This award recognizes our alumni who have an exemplary record of distinction and success in their chosen fields, have a proven record of impactful leadership and enduring service to their communities and society-at-large, and demonstrated pride and support for The Beach.

We are proud to celebrate our remarkable alumni and friends and reflect on their notable successes. 

2025 Distinguished Alumni Nominations

We are excited to announce the return of the Alumni Awards. The Beach community is encouraged to recognize and celebrate alumni that are making a profound difference in our communities, their chosen fields of expertise, and their alma mater. 

Nominations closed on Friday, November 1 at 5:00 p.m. 

The 2025 Distinguished Alumni recipients will be presented at the Alumni Awards, on March 20, 2025. 

Distinguished Alumni Selection Criteria

Nominees must have received a degree from CSULB; or in special circumstances, an alum who completed a significant amount of coursework at CSULB. 

  • Achieved prominence in his/her fields and made contributions of enduring impact that are regional, statewide, and/or national in scope.
  • A proven exemplary record of leadership in service to his/her community and society at large.
  • Demonstrated Beach Pride and support for CSULB through donated time or resources.
  • Demonstrated success at epitomizing the No Barriers ethos

  • Professional achievements and accomplishments in their chosen profession/field
  • Distinction in their career
  • Significant contributions to the Profession and to the Public
  • Dedication and service to CSULB
