Thomas Butler '82

I'm proud to be a Long Beach State graduate. I started my education there in 1975 and worked full-time while attending classes part-time. I was able to complete my degree and went on to get a master's degree at Cal State LA and a doctorate at USC in 2002. I'm grateful for the opportunity Long Beach State presented me to get the units I needed to graduate. My daughter was also a Long Beach State graduate, earning a degree in aerospace engineering. Unfortunately, she passed away a couple of years ago due to brain cancer. We established an alumni fund in her name in the school of Aerospace engineering to keep her memory alive. I'm proud of my educational accomplishments and the fact that I was able to be a constant learner, listening and learning.
