I'm grateful to have had my disability diagnosed at my college's adult learning disability center. It answered a lot of questions and gave me tools to use in life. I also loved the koi fish pond, which was a place to escape between classes. I had a favorite professor who entered one of my posters into a competition, even though it didn't win. I also had a great professor who was very patient with me when I had trouble with dimensional drawings. After graduating, I had to move up north with my mom, but I had previously gotten an internship with Carol Eken Interiors. When my daughter was in eighth grade, I took her to my college to show her the koi fish pond. Unfortunately, a bird took one of the baby koi while we were there. I ended up following in my mom's footsteps and working for the state for 23 years.
