California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), through the division of University Relations and Development, seeks to build and strengthen long-term relations at all levels of government – federal, state, regional and local – to advance the university’s mission. The Office of Government Relations is delegated the authority for relationship management with federal, state, regional and local elected and appointed officials and their staff.

In coordination with the CSU’s Advocacy and State Relations team and the Chancellor’s Office, the CSULB Office of Government Relations advocates to the State Legislature, the Governor’s Office and state agencies.

The CSU Office of Advocacy and State Relations advocates for the interests of the California State University with the state’s government. Advocacy and State Relations does so with the help of the Chancellor's Office, the CSU’s 23 universities, alumni and other supporters.
