10th Grade: Create Your Career Pathway

  • Meet with your counselor to identify the best academic pathway for your major of interest.
  • Update your Academic Planner at californiacolleges.edu and the High School Planning Chart.
  • Focus on your grades. The CSU calculates your GPA for admission using your 10th and 11th grade courses.
  • If considering a STEM career, take an advanced math course or a course that prepares you for advanced math.
  • Invite your parents to Back-to-School Night.

  • Narrow your college choices using californiacolleges.edu and the My College Plan tab.
  • During the summer, tour various college campuses, including CSULB.

  • Get involved – Sign up for clubs, organizations, volunteering, and/or sports.
  • Earn As & Bs in all A-G classes.
  • Refine your study skills to learn more effectively.
  • Apply for scholarships.
  • Practice Self-Care.
  • Ask for help – Take advantage of after-school tutoring for academic assistance.
