What fears or anxieties did you have about going to college?

As a first-gen student, I chose to become a peer mentor because of my experiences from being a mentee. I plan on using my knowledge and resources to help guide my mentees and familiarize them with on-campus resources, as well as creating a connection with them. Entering college, I feared many things such as being a financial burden, not excelling at school, being alone, and etc. Overtime, I was able to overcome these obstacles using resources provided by schools such as financial aid offices, tutoring, and GenExcel which helped me make connections with many great individuals.

Live in the moment and don’t forget to have fun, when we get overwhelmed because of work we forget to take care of ourselves. It’s okay to rest, but don’t rest too much :)

After finishing my undergrad at CSULB, I plan on entering a DPT program to pursue my goal of becoming a physical therapist.

Some personal interests of mine include skiing, bowling, running, thrifting, shopping, anime, gaming, cooking, and much more.
