Wishing you well this summer

Hello Beach family,

I hope you are all enjoying a restful and joyful summer. Time is quickly passing, and preparations are underway as we look forward to the 2022-23 academic year.

It is my hope that the summer is providing you with many opportunities to unwind. Now is the time to connect with loved ones and connect with yourself – a time to recharge, reset, and prepare for the prosperous year ahead!

To help with this charge, I encourage you to visit the Self-Care Websites on the Counseling and Psychology Services (CAPS) page. There, you will find a plethora of tips, meditations, and wellness practices to help you unplug this summer. In the wise words of Ovid, “Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.”

Although I am enjoying the season, I am also eager to welcome you back to campus very soon. Make sure to save the date for our 2022 Annual Convocation to be held on Friday, August 19 from 9-10:30 a.m. More details are to come, but I am certain that this kick-off event will be a great way to start our 22-23 academic year journey together!

COVID-19 Protocols

Masks are required indoors in these circumstances:

  • Regardless of vaccination status, masks are required in classrooms and labs, Student Health Center, childcare centers, public transit, small offices, and conference rooms.
  • For individuals who are not fully vaccinated.
  • When receiving one-on-one, in-person, close-contact services.

For Students - Students who have tested positive for COVID-19, or suspect they may be positive but have yet to test, can fill out this form to notify Student Health Services.

New Process for Faculty & Staff - Introducing Sick-let

  • The pre-screening chicklet is no longer required before coming to campus.
  • Instead, employees should immediately report any illness to their administrative services manager (ASM) through sick-let.
  • Sick-let is the new illness reporting chicklet for faculty and staff, located in the CSULB single sign-on (SSO).
  • Request to teach temporarily in Alternative Modes of Instruction (AMI) will be included as part of the sick-let.

It is vital that confirmed or suspected positive cases of COVID-19 are reported as quickly as possible to support health officials in their response.

Have questions related to admissions, financial aid, scholarships, or processes that impact your student record? Visit Enrollment Services and use the Ask Elbee chatbot in the bottom right corner of the screen. For additional support, call 562-985-5471 to talk the Beach Central team (9 a.m. - 5 p.m. PST, Monday - Friday).

As we return to campus this fall, don’t forget to review and/or update your emergency contact information in MyCSULB Student Center (under Personal Information).
