Creating Community Schools: Grounded in Purpose and Leading with Love

Taylor Ellis is a member of the leadership team at Scholarship Prep, a network of public charter schools focused on creating community change by operating university-inspired, trauma-informed public schools for all students, especially those experiencing homelessness or those in the foster care system. Taylor began her career in education through Teach for America in Dallas, TX, and since then has worked in both charter and district schools serving TK-12 students as a teacher, mentor and coach, curriculum specialist, site administrator, and district administrator. Her passion lies in creating community schools that leverage strategic partnerships to become resource hubs for students and families, as well as providing high quality educational programs to close the opportunity gap for those traditionally underserved.
