Andrea Calabrese
Andrea Calabrese, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in Construction Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering at California State University, Long Beach.
Calabrese’s research is in the fields of experimental testing, structural dynamics, base isolation, vibration engineering and in the development of low-cost devices for the seismic protection of buildings. This work has been instrumental in developing low-cost seismic isolation systems using recycled rubber and flexible reinforcements for seismic protection of buildings in developing regions.
Calabrese holds a Ph.D., in Construction Engineering and an M.Sc., in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Naples in Italy.
