Apostle Incubator and Enterprise Lab 2020

This fall the College of Business will unveil a new program open to student entrepreneurs from across campus. The John and Helen Apostle Incubator and Enterprise Lab is a new partnership for the College of Business and a commitment to provide entrepreneurial education to any student at CSULB, regardless of their major.

The John and Helen Apostle Foundation honors the memory of two Long Beach residents and entrepreneurs who owned and operated the Golden Sails Inn. In 2020 the College of Business and the foundation formalized a partnership that provides generous funding for entrepreneurial education available to students and community members. The result is the John and Helen Apostle Incubator and Enterprise Lab.

The incubator, which has helped students and LB residents to hone and polish business plans for a number of years, will be an enhanced resource. The enterprise lab, though, is a new undertaking; a two-course sequence that provides a strong foundation in entrepreneurship. Students must apply and be accepted into the program before registering for Entrepreneurial Marketing and Special Topics in Entrepreneurship. These two classes, anchored in the College of Business, are open to any student. Further, the John and Helen Apostle Incubator and Enterprise Lab will leverage top-notch resources at CSULB and collaborate with other programs and centers, like the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Hauth Center for Communications Skills.
