COB Introduces New Graduate Programs

Published December 5, 2019

In Fall 2019 the COB Graduate Programs launched four new degree options: the Online MBA (OMBA), MS Marketing (MSM), MS Finance (MSF), and the MS Information Systems (MSIS).

The OMBA program welcomed 26 students into its inaugural cohort. OMBA provides working professionals with the flexibility to pursue their post-baccalaureate education through a digital platform, all while providing the education and skill set of an MBA degree. The digital cohort layout of OMBA gives a realistic approach to collaborative working in the age of technology. In addition to participating in the MBA degree program online, students in the OMBA also take part in an international trip where they can apply their skills in real-life scenarios.

The MSM, also established in fall 2019 started its first semester with a cohort of 14 students. This program focuses on analytics and various technologies such as python and tableau to better prepare marketing students for the current industry and allow them to thrive in an ever-evolving digital marketing era.

MSF began its first fall semester with 15 students in their cohort. The MSF allows for specialized instruction for those who have a passion specifically for Finance and prepares students to sit for the CFA exam. Members of the MSF cohort are able to take advantage of the CFA designated curriculum and the 12 Bloomberg Terminals located at the College of Business. All of these resources allow MSF students to gain hands-on experience in managing and analyzing real-time market data with the knowledge needed to become CFA professionals after they graduate.

The MSIS program welcomed 19 students into its fall 2019 cohort, all of whom were eager to get involved in COB. For the fall 2019 Semester, four students from the MSIS program served in the Graduate Business Student Association (GBA). The GBA combines professional development, networking, and social events to help enhance the communication skills of graduate students and connect them with industry partners.
