Barbara Barcon
Barbara Barcon’s career as a finance executive spans 35 years and the highest levels of corporate finance leadership in the Aerospace and Energy industries. In 2010, she retired as Vice President and CFO of Pacific Gas & Electric, her latest of several roles with purview over multi-billion-dollar operating units and companies.
Barcon perfected her operations, accounting and budgetary acumen as she rose to Vice President and CFO of Hughes Electronics’s multi-billion-dollar satellite manufacturing business unit. As Vice President and CFO of TRW’s Space Systems, she again oversaw business operations for a company with over $2 billion in annual sales. She was promoted to Vice President of Financial Process Excellence when TRW was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 2002.
Alongside her personal achievements, Barcon is most proud of her work mentoring students. She cites CSULB as an anchor in her life, and happily lends her tremendous finance and leadership experience to students as Chairman of the College of Business’s Graduate Program Advisory Board, on the selection committee for MBA scholarships, as a mentor to undergraduate and MBA students, and as an advisor for CSULB’s International Collegiate Business Strategy teams.
Off campus, she serves as second Vice President on the board of a non-profit Salesian Boys and Girls Club, supporting fundraising for operations and the recent completion of a $10 million renovation of the Club's facilities.
Barcon enjoys traveling with Julius, her husband of nearly 38 years, and her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
