Matt S. Rezvani is the most senior West Coast political, public affairs and community advisor to executives at BP America, an international energy company. He is responsible for formulating and implementing strategies related to public policy issues as well as community involvement and charitable contributions on the West Coast and in the Southwest.
Prior to working for BP, Rezvani was manager of local government and community relations for ARCO Products Company. As a longtime veteran of ARCO Transportation Company, he served as director of external affairs where he was responsible for the division’s interest in regulatory and legislative issues involving Alaska, Washington, California and Arizona.
Rezvani’s community work includes serving as a governor's appointee to the Technical Advisory Committee, Office of Spill Prevention and Response, Department of Fish and Game; immediate past chairman of the Los Angeles County Commission on the Policy Roundtable on Childcare; and commissioner for First Five L.A. He has served on multiple nonprofit boards, including the Long Beach Symphony, Greater Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and the Long Beach Boys and Girls Club.
As an alumnus of CSULB, Rezvani chaired the College of Business Administration’s advisory board. Most recently, he was instrumental in establishing a BP scholarship for the College of Engineering. Born in Khorramshahr, Iran, Rezvani lives in Diamond Bar with his wife of 37 years, Debbi, who is a 1974 CSULB alum with a history degree. They have two sons and two granddaughters.
