Deciding to attend Cal State-Long Beach has been one of the best decisions of my life! I have made some lifelong friends and had many truly memorable experiences. In addition, I have met so many people that have not only inspired me but have helped me grow as a person. One of the things that I have learned about myself since attending this school is how much I love to help others. So many people have helped me get where I am today, so it seems fitting to give back and help others achieve success as well.
My path to CSULB was definitely non-traditional! I attended a few schools before I finally found my path here at CSULB. Initially attended a college on the East coast. I went there for a short period of time. Then, I moved to California. Once here, I attended community college. After graduating with my associate’s degree, I then transferred to Cal State-Long Beach and the rest as they say is history!
Next up is grad school! In the spring of 2019, I will be starting the Masters in Accountancy program here at CSULB and to be honest, I am really excited! I am happy to be continuing my academic career at the school that I love so much!
There are two main reasons that I wanted to get involved with the myBeach program and the Alumni office. First, I knew that I was going to stay involved with the school after I graduated so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to find out how. Being involved was basically my way of bridging the gap between being a student and being an alumnus. It was also my way to start making connections with alumni even before I graduated. Lastly, I wanted to have an impact on my senior experience and I can’t do that unless I participate!
It’s all about paying it forward! I love being a part of this school! I love the faculty that I have met! I love my fellow students! I just love my school and if given the opportunity, I want to show my appreciation in any way that I can. I want to help in any way that I can to support the school and ensure that future students’ experiences are as enjoyable as mine.
