My Beach experience has been the best two years of my life. The Beach helped me to not only grow confidence in myself as a person, but in my abilities as a journalist and writer. For that, I am forever grateful.
My path to CSULB was different then most! I was originally committed to attend Pepperdine University, but decided last minute it just wasn’t the place for me. I wanted to go somewhere that embodied diversity, and felt like home at its core. CSULB has without a doubt been that home, and has accepted me with open arms from the beginning. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it.
After school I plan to take some much needed time off, and get back in touch with myself. As we all know school can be demanding, and at times it can even consume us on all levels. I’m looking forward to taking the next year to re-center and focus on my health - physical and mental. During this time my goal is to also travel as much as possible :)
It was important for me to become engrossed in the campus community when I first started at CSULB. I wanted to make real connections with my peers, and branch out as much as possible within my major. By getting involved with the Alumni office, I feel I’m making it possible for other students to get the same experience, as to find support in the school community, and begin branching out and exploring their interests.
For me, it means I leave a legacy. Even though I’m graduating, I still feel as much apart of the Beach Community as I did when I first started at CSULB. By donating, I know I am helping to give back and nurture future students, as they embark on the journey to higher education, and a deep understanding of themselves.
