License Plate Recognition (LPR) & Virtual Permitting
CSULB uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) and paperless permitting system. Plastic hangtags and paper permits are no longer issued or required. Your license plate will function as your parking permit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since this systems relies so heavily on your license plate for permit verification, it is very important that your license plate number be entered in correctly to our online system in order to avoid an unnecessary citation.
By leveraging new technology like LPR, our campus eliminates a mountain of waste that would be headed to our landfills every semester. Items eliminated include sticker permits, sticker backing paper, plastic hangtags, paper day passes, paper receipts and over 18,000 paper envelopes to deliver them every single semester!
