Bonnie Blackburn
She earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She then returned to school and received her M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from the Theatre Arts Department at CSULB.
After helping launch two tech startups in the education sector and having formally trained and worked as a clinical therapist, Ms. Blackburn felt strongly pulled back towards the classroom. She served as the Campus Learning Strategist for Utah Valley University, researching metacognition while teaching psychology and cognitive learning courses. Ms. Blackburn draws heavily from her psychology background while teaching fiction and film theory and screenwriting courses.
In addition to her teaching role in Cinematic Arts, Ms. Blackburn teaches graduate and undergraduate writing, critical reasoning, psychology, and other liberal arts courses at the Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach.
