Academic Advising
Academic Advising is a critical component of your success at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Our faculty, staff and peer advisors are trained to help you make the most out of your undergraduate experience and meet your degree requirements. The university provides advising for university-wide requirements, for special student groups and for colleges and departments.
Already have a major? Know what you want to study at CSULB but need information about major requirements? Your college and department advisors are eager to help!
The University Center for Undergraduate Advising can help you if you:
- Need help choosing a major
- Are undeclared and need help understanding General Education requirements
- Need to enroll in a reinstatement workshop
- Are on academic warning and need to enroll in a Strategies for Success workshop
Time to fulfill the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR)? Having trouble successfully passing the Writing Proficiency Examination? A GWAR advisor can help.
The PASS program provides mentoring, advising, and placement support to first-year Beach Academy students. PASS also monitors the Progress Report process for Written Communication and Mathematics with support courses during Fall and Spring semesters.
