Kathleen Hansen

Kathleen Hansen specializes in assisting advisors with conceptual financial planning, including tax, investment, risk management, retirement, and estate planning. Prior to working in the financial services industry, she was a buyer for Buffum’s department stores in the 1970s and early 1980s, buying manufactured products based on commodity prices. That activity spawned her interest in investing and led her to obtain an MBA in 1982 with an emphasis in finance and accounting. Additionally, she attended San Diego State University and graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with her bachelor’s degree in home economics in 1975.

She previously held an industry securities registration for over 35 years. Additionally, Kathleen is an IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) for client representation regarding tax matters and a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. In 1987, she earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification.

A generous supporter of CSULB, Kathleen is a member of the Carillon Society, Legacy Society, and Women and Philanthropy. Currently, she serves on the Board of the 49er Foundation as a director and Chair of the Finance & Investment Committee. She served on the CSULB Alumni Association Executive Board as President and has served in several other roles, including Vice President, President-Elect, and Past-President. She comes from a Beach family. Graduates include her twin sister, brother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
