Lyric coloratura soprano Jennifer Sung boasts a vibrant career that spans North America, Europe, and Asia. Praised for her "flexible" and "rich Mozartean singing," she has charmed audiences at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Stellar Center in New York, Dekelboum Concert Hall at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center in Washington D.C., and the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, Korea. Her career highlights roles in bel canto operatic repertoire, such as the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor, Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and Adina in L’elisir d’amore. Her repertoire also includes roles such as Mimì in La bohème, Gretel in Hansel und Gretel, Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Madame Herz in Der Schauspieldirektor, La Fée in Cendrillon, and Anna in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, among many others. Notably, Dr. Sung will be making her debut with Vegas City Opera as Zerlina in Don Giovanni in May 2024.

Equally adept on both concert and recital stages, Dr. Sung recently captivated audiences with a recital of Lithuanian art songs at the International College Music Society Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, in the summer of 2023. She has also performed as a soprano soloist in various oratorio and concert works, including Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, Bach’s Mass in B minor, Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Little Organ Mass, Scarlatti’s Su le sponde del Tebro, and many others.

Joining the faculty of the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in 2019, Dr. Sung’s students have quickly garnered acclaim both nationally and internationally, securing numerous awards in competitions such as the Collegiate Vocal Competition Opera Grand Rapids, NATS Cal-Western Competition, Redlands Bowl Young Artist Competition, Southern California Philharmonic Young Artist Competition, NATS LA Collegiate Competition, and more. Moreover, her students have received invitations to esteemed international music festivals such as the Martina Arroyo Foundation, AIMS Graz, Miami Music Festival, Chicago Summer Opera, The Collaborative Piano Institute, Vienna Music Festival, Austrian American Mozart Academy, Narnia Festival Emerging Artists Program, among others.

Dr. Jennifer Sung holds a B.M. degree from the Eastman School of Music, an M.M. degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and a D.M.A. degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Prior to her tenure at the Bob Cole Conservatory, she served as a voice instructor at Grand Valley State University and Stony Brook University.
