Sharri Hefner
Sharri holds an MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she focused on film production and graduated summa cum laude from California State, Long Beach. Sharri is a member of Phi Betta Kappa.
Sharri started her creative endeavors as a performer and writer. As a performer, Sharri was a member of Actor’s Alley theatre where she starred in many productions, including in the world premieres of Peter Lefcourt’s SWEET TALK and LA RONDE DU LUNCH. At California State University, Long Beach she starred in LATC Founder Bill Bushnell’s version OF MICE AND MEN and toured with the summer Shakespeare troupe. As a writer, Sharri wrote ‘Spice’ for Gene Rhee’s THE TROUBLE WITH ROMANCE which stars David Eigenberg (Sex and the City) and Jordan Belfi (Entourage) and was distributed by Warner Bros. Additionally, Sharri co-wrote GEORGIA HEAT with fellow NYU alum Mora Stephens. GEORGIA HEAT received fellowships from Tribeca All-Access and Film Independent Fast Track. Through these experiences, Sharri developed a knack for story structure and an eye for performance which translated well to producing for visual media.
As an independent filmmaker and producer, Sharri is directing and producing a feature length documentary CHONSIE, following an applicant for LA’s Cannabis Social Equity Program. Before that, she produced Eli Daughdrill’s freshman feature FAITH starring Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker), Iddo Goldberg (Peaky Blinders, Snowpiercer) and Nora-Jane Noone (Brooklyn). In 2021, Sharri is slated to producing former Bollywood actor Shiva Natarajan’s freshman feature thriller, award-winning filmmaker JT Walker’s freshman border feature drama and sophomore director Rachel Carey’s feature comedy. Sharri is a Sundance and Women in Film Finance Lab alum with Marquette Jones’ AFTER THE JUMP. In the past, Sharri has produced several award-winning shorts, including House of Cards writer Sharon Hoffman’s ALMOST, Elias Daughdrill’s PROFESSOR and has also field produced for E! ENTERTAINMENT. Sharri has also Production Managed music videos for P!NK and Katy Perry.
