The Adobe Education Summit was held July 26-28, 2022, and had over 4,000 global registrants, all of whom are Adobe Education Leaders or teach digital media. During the summit, participants shared best practices for teaching creativity and software. Film & Electronic Arts Department Assistant Professor of Post Production, Susan Bloom was a featured speaker for the event. Susan’s session, Premiere Pro and Rush: How to Create an Efficient Workflow and Organize Assets for a Video Project covered teaching industry practices and protocols reconfigured for editing short projects for high school and college students.
Susan is the co-head of the post production track in the film department at CSULB and brought the highly esteemed Avid Media Composer certification to the department. Students have the opportunity to gain this professional credential while still in school after successfully completing two exams which they take across two semesters focused on editing with Media Composer. This credential helps our graduates be competitive for entry level industry editorial positions. In addition to being a certified Media Composer Professional Instructor, Susan is also an Adobe Education Leader and on the CSU Adobe Advisory Council. Her partnership with Adobe Education focuses on creating cross discipline collaboration opportunities and events for all CSULB students.
