Review of 2023 Annual Alumni Mixer
The Annual Alumni Mixer returned to campus for the first time in four years on Saturday, October 21, 2023. The event was hosted at the beautiful new Anna W. Ngai Alumni Center.
Advisory Board members, graduate business program alumni, current students, and faculty joined together to network with one another as well as learn about opportunities for involvement in the Advisory Board, sign-up for the Graduate Business Mentor Program, and learn about how to contribute to student scholarships.
Hosted by the MBA Advisory Board, Chair Steve Yoho welcomed guests and spoke about the advisory board’s function and opportunities for volunteerism that enhance the quality of graduate business programs. Dean Michael Solt reminded guests about the importance of networking and how The Beach is fostering an environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
Alumni Award
Graduate Business Programs Director Dr. Rod Smith presented Robert “Bob” Pitts, MBA 1973, with the 2023 Outstanding MBA Alumni Award. Bob’s career included 37 years at Toyota. Bob has given back time and again to CSULB and the College of Business as an Advisory Board member, professional mentor, and donor to scholarships. His advice to guests: “Getting involved and giving back is important. It’s about trying to make the world a better place. It’s all of us working together to make it happen.”
