Jasmine Puck Receives ‘June 2024 Employee of the Month’ Award
On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, Jasmine Puck, received the ‘June 2024 Employee of the Month’ in a ceremony attended by colleagues across campus, friends, and family. The former California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) Coordinator and current College of Business (COB) Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD) Program Coordinator was honored with the award.
During the ceremony, CSULB President, Jane Conoley, shared pieces from multiple ‘Best of the Beach’ nominations in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the university. During her time as the FSL Coordinator, Jasmine leveraged her event planning talents to create an effective Canvas system. This system, now used by over 1,500 students, replaced the previous paper-based format with an easily accessible electronic system. Her commitment to streamlining processes demonstrates her proactive approach to enhancing student experiences. Her collaborative contributions also extended to the Men’s Success Initiative (MSI) at CSULB which meaningfully impacted the growth and success to support male students on their academic journey. By actively participating in and promoting the MSI, Jasmine fostered a campus environment that encouraged student success and well-being.
As the SCPD Program Coordinator, Jasmine wasted no time in continuing to make a significant impact. Her blend of creativity, resourcefulness, and dedication has transformed the SCPD's social media presence and enhanced outreach within the CSULB community. Her vision to make social media fun yet informative has led to an immediate surge in engagement. By including more people in our posts, she has connected us more deeply with students and fostered a sense of community. One of her standout achievements was organizing a Headshot Photo Studio event. By utilizing her own resources and expertise, she provided students with invaluable opportunities to update their LinkedIn photos before the CSULB job fair. Her dedication to student success and understanding of the importance of a professional online presence were evident. Jasmine also played a crucial role in implementing a Canvas page for the SCPD. This platform streamlined processes and improved communication. Faculty department chairs were impressed, leading to approval for a similar concept within the COB. Her passion and proactive approach have driven positive change and innovation.
Jasmine embodies CSULB’s mission by enriching the lives of students and the surrounding community through high-impact educational experiences, superior teaching, research, creative activity, and innovation. Her dedication to the public good is evident in her work. She exemplifies the spirit of CSULB’s mission, and her commitment to educational excellence, community engagement, and support for diverse populations will continue to positively impact the CSULB community and beyond. We look forward to witnessing Jasmine’s continued spirit exemplify the Best of The Beach.
