Featured Scholarship Recipient – Nilesh Metkar
I owe my thanks to the College of Business (COB) at California State University Long Beach for providing me with career-building, volunteering, and networking opportunities that I never would have found anywhere else. As a graduating student of the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management Spring 2020 Cohort 4, I feel proud to be a part of business communities of logistics and supply chain management. I received an opportunity to get engaged with the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals through COB. I was very happy and thrilled to learn that I was selected as the recipient of the generous "CSCMP SoCal Roundtable Scholarship".
The scholarship funds helped me to continue my research in the areas of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles, zero-emission fuel technologies, and urban logistics. I was able to concentrate on my studies without worrying about my financial needs.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my mentors Dr. Ingrid Martin, Dr. Tom O’Brien, Dr. Xuemei Su, and Dr. Seiji Steimetz for giving me moral support, and guidance during tough times. I am also thankful to my classmates and to the faculty of the COB for embracing me with open arms, supporting my goals, and being my home on campus. Congratulations to all graduating students of Spring 2020. Go Beach!
