Ricardo Silva
Ricardo Silva is an accomplished professional broadcast designer/animator born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. He started his career in the 1990s after working for several years as a creative professional in the advertising field in Los Angeles. He has collaborated in the creation of branding campaigns and broadcast graphics for many well-known entertainment companies including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, The Food Network, Telemundo, NBC, CBS, Univision, TLC, Disney, Fox Sports, and Fox International.
Ricardo received two Emmy® nominations, in 2001 and 2008, for "Outstanding Main Title Design" by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He has been working for more than a decade in many freelance capacities for several film, television, production and entertainment studios throughout the United States and Latin America. He has also served as a consultant to various networks, providing training tailored to their current creative needs in several areas such as 3D modeling and broadcast animation and other production workflow techniques.
Ricardo is the founder of SUGARfx, a plugin company that provides creative solutions for editors and designers in the television and film industries. As a passionate 2D and 3D designer, animator and instructor, he has received a certification by Maxon and has written a couple of interactive books available in the iBook (Apple) store. He receives invitations to give lectures and talks at universities and creative events in several Latin American countries.
