Department Seminar
Upcoming Seminar
Discovery and development of synthetic transformations for applications in medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, and natural products synthesis
Dr. Jozef Stec, Marshall B. Ketchum University
November 6, 2024
4:00pm-5:00pm in HSCI-103
Novel chemical transformations provide means for accessing new and diverse scaffolds thus opening uncharted chemical space relevant to medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, and drug discovery. They also allow for a shorter, more efficient, and overall accelerated synthesis of natural products and other complex molecules. This seminar will showcase several multicomponent synthetic protocols that employ "traditional" organic chemistry reagents and organometallic complexes. The optimized methods were successfully utilized in efficient synthesis of interesting and biologically active compounds and natural products.
Seminars are held on Wednesdays at 4:00pm. All are invited to attend.
