My time here at CSULB has been phenomenal. Cal State Long Beach has allowed me to grow as an individual and provided me with an immense amount of opportunities. I am actively involved on campus. Throughout my time here, I was in a sorority known as Tri Delta, I am no longer active but I absolutely admire all of those amazing females I got to make connections with. I am a Student Advisor for a club on campus known as Hermanas Unidas, we are a chicanx/latinx club but we welcome anyone and everyone. Aside from clubs and organizations I also do have a job on campus, I am a SOAR Leader. As a SOAR Leader, we work with incoming students to educate them about our campus, facilitate tours, and work with various departments to provide resources for the students (first years & transfers).
When I was in middle school, we took a fieldtrip to campus and I knew it was where I wanted to go. The child development and family studies program is astounding so I knew it was the right fit for me.
After I graduate in the spring, my goal is to continue to further my education and obtain a masters degree in Social Work. I aspire to be a LCSW and work with children and families and a hospital setting.
I got involved with mybeach Program and CSULB Alumni because it provides an immense amount of opportunities. I feel as if these opportunities that are provided are often overseen. Mybeach has allowed me to get further involved on campus and be up to date with events and resources offered on campus. After I graduate, I want to give back to our beach community.
