As a transfer student in Fall 2018, I knew I had limited time to make the most out of my time in CSULB. Now going into my last semester with a job offer upon graduation, I knew I made those last 2 years count! I also know that I got to where I am with the help and guidance of many along the way. Although my last semester isn't how I envisioned it due to the global pandemic, I look forward to graduating and giving back to the incoming students.
I didn’t want to go to college right out of high school but my friend’s successful career after graduation inspired me to go back and get my act together. I went back to El Camino College and upon transferring I decided to come to CSULB because I wanted an education at a reputable school without going into debt.
After school, I’ll start studying for GMAT just to get it out of the way since that’ll also force me to go back for my master within the next 5 years. As my career begins, I’ll invest more without upgrading my current lifestyle. I’ll also travel more. However, I’m playing everything else by ear as we are all living in unprecedented times.
I got to where I am with the help of many amazing mentors and connections. So, I’ll continue to stay involved and guide others that are after me whether it be through MyBeach program and the Alumni Association or other resources.
