I had a good time at CSULB. I met many friends, made many memories, and grew in ways I never thought I would. I became a more well-rounded individual and more confident in how I feel and where I’m going. Though I’ve lost some friends over these past few years, I’ve also made many, where I know with absolute certainty that these are connections that I’ll keep with me for the rest of my life.
To be quite frank, this was the only college I actually applied to. I didn’t even want to attend a CSU at first, as I preferred the option of transferring from a community college due to financial reasons. I only applied to CSULB and attended all four years because both of my parents went here, where my mother studied computer science and math education and my father studied music. I suppose I’m a combination of my father’s artistic side and my mother’s teacher-like nature, which is quite fitting since we all went to the same school.
I’m going to join the police academy and become a sworn police officer at LBPD. It has everything I want out of a career and will help me complete my financial goals of eventually having enough capital to invest in real estate.
I wanted some guidance in my career goals and personal development. I want to be a better person, not only for myself and my family, but also for my community. I originally wanted to become a high school English teacher after graduation, but I decided to postpone that goal due to financial reasons. At the end of the day, I don’t care what I do as long as I’m helping other people.
