Although my time at CSULB started virtually, it was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have had in my academic and professional journeys so far. I was not only able to invest in my passion for mental health advocacy, but I also had the privilege of being involved with diverse communities both on and off campus. These experiences gave me the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone through tabling at events, presenting at research symposiums, hosting psychoeducational workshops at local school districts, networking at professional conferences, and more. The most rewarding part of this journey was meeting all of my amazing team members and friends, who really demonstrated the importance of having connection and support on campus!
I decided to go to CSULB for the honors program, and went on to find a community of inspiring individuals who motivate me to be a better person every day.
I intend on pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology while continuing to do work with Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in mental health organizations. I hope to do my part in creating a safe and supportive space for underrepresented youth to feel heard, seen, and empowered!
I got involved as a student assistant for the University Relations and Development Department, and connected with the amazing alumni team who became like my second family. In the same way they made campus feel comfortable for me, I hope to extend the same mentorship and support to future undergraduate students!
