My experience at CSULB has been absolutely amazing since I started the MPA program. Prior to attending, I have been on campus many times for graduations of friends as well as siblings. The CSULB campus is very diverse and has a great campus environment to enjoy! In the last two years, I have engaged with many passionate professors that are highly respected in their field. They always expect you to excel, challenge you every day of class, and are completely invested in your success. The fellow members of the MPA program are very passionate about the curriculum and most importantly about making a positive change within society. The students of the MPA program have collaborated and started the student MPAA organization, where students can network, attend presentations and get involved in the community. It is vital to network, be active on campus, and actively engage with others in the program. The last two years have been a rewarding experience and I feel grateful to have had such great experiences and memories with MPA students and professors.
My path to CSULB has been a rewarding journey. After completing my undergraduate degree at CSUF, I took one semester off to determine my next educational goal. After completing an introduction to Public Administration course at LBCC, I decided to pursue a graduate degree in public administration at CSULB. I knew I wanted to attend CSULB and be part of the “go beach” campus environment and make CSULB part of my educational experience.
After the beach I plan to spend more time with the family and continue to pursue professional development opportunities. The beach experience has further prepared me for my career after the beach and my experience will enable me to engage with others in the field after the beach.
I also plan to purse a teaching opportunity upon graduating so I can engage with students and share the skills and knowledge gained my educational and professional experience.
Raised in Long Beach, I have always had a strong connection with the City of Long Beach and all of the activities within the City. I knew that by attending CSULB, I would be able to create more connections and be part of the prestigious CSULB Alumni group. I look forward to staying connected with those I have engaged with and building strong relationships with fellow Alumni when I graduate.
