Dr. Shauntina Sorrells, DSW, MSW ’09

Chief Program Officer, Orangewood Foundation

Dr. Shauntina Sorrells is the Chief Program Officer at Orangewood Foundation, a transitional youth serving organization in Orange County, CA. Shauntina completed her Doctorate in Social Work at USC, holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from CSULB, and obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Vanguard University. Shauntina is a professor at Vanguard and Walla Walla University and teaches Social and Community Psychology, Child and Adolescent Development, Treating Addictions, and Couples & Domestic Violence. She works with families, youth in foster care, individuals in crisis and organizations seeking innovation and change. Her expertise is in programs that provide community based programming to change the social norms that challenge systemic issues facing underserved populations. Shauntina is certified in Trauma Informed Care Training and has trained Trauma Informed Practices for the OC Probation Department, the OC Juvenile Court, and the Public Defenders office. Shauntina serves as a Former Foster Youth voice for the Orange County Department of Education and Social Services. Shauntina is an avid planner, crafting junkie, and loves spending time hiking, camping, traveling, and enjoying the beach.
