Kathy Magaña-Gomez ‘98, MS, CCC

Spanish-Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist Garden Grove Unified School District & Private Practice Owner  

Kathy is many things but first and foremost she is a proud Latina, who is a first-generation Mexican-American and the first in her family to attend college. Earning a master's degree in Communicative Disorders with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology, she offers 20 years of clinical experience in public schools. Kathy’s passion for serving culturally and linguistically diverse populations reaches beyond public schools to her private practice that focuses on providing speech therapy services to pediatric clients from diverse backgrounds.

Kathy has extensive experience in Spanish-bilingual assessments and intervention, Gestalt Language Processing with the Autistic population, Early Intervention, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and Parent Education. In addition, she is an advocate for the importance of play in a child’s development. Kathy is a member of the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in California. She is an ASHA ACE award recipient and proudly serves as part of the merely 8% of the speech-language pathology professional community who are minoritized.
