Regional Editor, USA TODAY Network Editor-in-Chief, The Tennessean 

Michael A. Anastasi is Vice President and Editor of The Tennessean in Nashville and Region Editor for the USA TODAY Network in the South. He previously was senior vice president and executive editor of the Los Angeles News Group and in 2015 led a team there to the Pulitzer Prize in Local Reporting. A leader of diversity efforts in the journalism industry, he is a 2001 graduate of CSULB and also holds a master’s degree in leadership and public service from Lipscomb University. Anastasi served as a juror for the Pulitzer Prizes in 2018 and 2019, and in 2021 he was named co-laureate of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalism Award, which recognizes the best human rights and social justice reporting in the world.
