If it’s true that the California Dream seems especially comfortable in Orange County, then Roland Osgood is one of the people who made it feel at home. The Newport Beach resident began his career in real estate with Broadmoor Homes in 1968 and was named its executive vice president in 1974.
He later served as president of the four residential subsidiaries of The Irvine Co.’s Land Development Group and The Irvine Co’s Coastal Community Builders. After 11 years, he left The Irvine Co. in March of 1991 to form Vintage Communities, Inc., renamed Kaufman & Broad Homes Corp., South Coast Division, in 1992.
In its first year, two of the company’s neighborhoods finished first and fifth on the year’s Orange County bestseller list.
Today, the company is aggressively pursuing its primary goal of building and selling more than 600 homes annually in the Orange County region. Osgood was born in Boston, Mass., and moved to California at the age of 5.
Osgood and his wife Dianne are the parents of sons Matthew, Mark and Michael as well as daughter Jennifer.
