Policy Statement - 78-40 Personal Privacy, Resolution on
SUBJECT: RESOLUTION ON PERSONAL PRIVACY
The following policy statement, recommended by the Academic Senate at its meeting of October 19, 1978, and approved by the President on November 8, 1978, is as follows:
"WHEREAS, All individuals have a right to privacy and a right to keep their personal and professional lives separate; and
WHEREAS, The University Administration, the Associated Students, and the Faculty of the University may receive from employers, prospective employers, school boards or other agencies, businesses or organizations, inquiries concerning the political and/or sexual preference activities or advocacy or personal lifestyle of current or former students or employees; therefore be it
RESOLVED : That it be the policy of California State University, Long Beach, that no information concerning the political and/or sexual preference activities or advocacy or personal lifestyle of current or former students or employees be divulged."
This resolution is an elaboration of the existing policy (Policy 78-26).
