I attended Long Beach State because my relatives lived there and I wanted a change of scenery from my high school classmates who were all going to UCI. I was also drawn to the diversity and different viewpoints in LA County compared to Orange County. My sister had also attended the school, but did not graduate. I remember some of my professors, like Dr. Vogel and Dr. Sam Torres, who were successful and inspiring role models. I was involved in clubs and organizations, like the Filipino American Coalition and intramural sports. After graduating, I realized that the degree showed my ability to start and finish something, which is an important skill in life.
