I'm so proud of my time at California State University, Long Beach. It was a difficult journey for me, as I had to fight my family to break free from tradition and be the first to go to college and finish. I'm so happy that I was able to pave the way and struggle so that others wouldn't have to. I worked at the housing office, the dorms, the dining hall, and the careers office. I was able to meet so many people and explore and learn. Living at the dorms was an experience in itself. I still have friends from 1994 & 1995 when I first started. I had a mentor, one of the Spanish teachers, who was very helpful. I sought out tutoring and additional support when I felt like I was struggling academically. I'm so glad that I had that support system from my friends at school and the faculty. I'm so proud of what I was able to accomplish and I'm glad that I don't regret it. I'm happy to share my story and be part of showcasing the alumni hard work and achievements at California State University, Long Beach.
