My time at Cal State Long Beach was an amazing experience, especially as one of the first in my family to attend a four-year university. I was part of the President Scholars program and was able to take advantage of the smaller classes and the real world experience that my professors brought to the table. I remember one time in particular when there was a torrential rain that flooded the campus. Everyone put on their bathing suits and ran around campus, slipping and sliding down the hills with campaign signs. It was a lot of fun and we made the best of a bad situation. I learned a lot during my time at Cal State Long Beach, but the biggest takeaway was to follow my heart and listen to the community.
