James Stephenson '64

I chose California State University Long Beach because it was close to where I lived and I could afford it. I didn't have any contact with my classmates after graduation, but I'm grateful for the experience because it opened doors that wouldn't have been available to me otherwise. After I graduated, I realized I had a learning disability and it was hereditary. I can understand and do hands-on work, but I struggle with tests and writing. I had to learn how to deal with it and I got a secretary to help me with my writing. I'm grateful for the experience and I'm learning from it to help my son who is 10 years old.
