I'm a retired person now, but before that I had a long career. I was a single father raising my kids while I was attending California State University Long Beach. It took me three years to finish my degree because I was working full-time and going to school part-time. After I graduated, I got a job at General Motors and worked there until 2006. I was able to reach the level of department manager, which was a couple of levels below a plant manager. After that, I worked as a consultant for several companies and officially retired in 2019. I'm proud to be the first person in my family to graduate from college. I wanted to be an example for the next generation and it's worked out well. I have a granddaughter with a master's degree in marine biology, a niece with a master's degree in psychology, and several nephews in Mexico with degrees. I was also able to help them financially with their education. I'm still in touch with the younger generation and I'm happy to offer my time and advice. I'm grateful for the education I received at California State University Long Beach and the marketing degree I earned there. It was a major part of my success in business and I'm glad I was able to use it to help others.
