Cynthia Masner '87

My time at Long Beach State was an incredible experience. I came to the school with the intention of getting into athletic administration and was lucky enough to be offered a job in the athletic department. I stayed there for 39 years and it was amazing to watch the student athletes come in as young, impressionable people and leave as great contributing members of society. The coaches and administration were instrumental in helping them grow and mature. I also played softball and was able to get both the practical and academic knowledge I needed to be successful in my career. The professors in kinesiology were very helpful and I was given every opportunity to excel and grow. I didn't have time to participate in any other clubs or organizations other than softball, but I was able to help mentor and be a colleague to the student athletes. It was never the same day twice and it was a great experience.
