Carleen Carriedo Benzon '04

My time at Long Beach State was incredibly meaningful to me. I remember one of my business classes in particular, where the professor worked with me to help me stay in the class despite my work schedule. He went above and beyond to ensure I was successful, and that really stood out to me. I was also well prepared for interviews after taking a professional writing class, which taught me interview etiquette. After graduating, I worked at a bank for almost 15 years before transitioning into nursing. Now, I'm proud to be an alumni and take my kids to the school I graduated from. Seeing the Camp Nugget program and the dedication of the staff to the children was a full circle moment for me. Long Beach State has helped me become who I am today, and I'm proud to be an alumni.
