My college experience was unique. I transferred to California State University Long Beach for my junior year and earned my bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in information systems management. I was also fortunate enough to work for the College of Business while I was studying. This enabled me to pay for my tuition, books, rent, and other necessities. I was able to build relationships with the students and professors, and I learned a lot about different cultures, religions, and backgrounds. My boss trusted me with the protection of the computer lab, and I still keep in touch with her today. A business professor advised me to pursue a master's degree in public administration, which I did and it has helped me in my current job in the public sector. I also worked for the Long Beach Unified School District in various positions, which humbled me and taught me a lot. I use the knowledge I gained from my professors and experiences to help guide students and their parents, and I also spread awareness about African-American culture on social media.
