Workshops and Seminars

The CSULB Statistical Consulting Group (SCG) offers some free statistical advising workshops to CSULB graduate students in various departments. These workshops are planned events that are advertised within the appropriate departments and on this website. See scheduled workshops.

SCG can provide department or college seminars on a various statistical topics. See scheduled seminars. Contact us at statgroup@csulb.edu if you would like us to present in your department or college.

Statistical Help

SCG provides ongoing statistical support for students and faculty researchers at an a affordable academic rate. Help can range from simple guidance to the full execution of your statistical work. Contact us if you need

• help with grant proposals and reports

• guidance with study design

• interpreting and presenting results

• verifying results from previous analyses

• help with statistical software packages

All statistical consultations begin with a free initial meeting between you and a faculty member of the Statistical Consulting Group. The initial meeting is a chance to get acquainted and for the SCG staff to become familiar with your research. We recommend that you provide background material and data, if available. In this meeting, we work together to develop a common vision of what needs to be done. If you decide to use our services, the SCG staff will take care of all agreed-upon aspects of the statistical process. We will write a comprehensive report report of our findings and we will also meet with you to explain the results in ways that are easy to understand.
