College of Liberal Arts: The Language Center is maintained by the College of Liberal Arts, which is the largest college on campus.

AAAS: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tagalog and Vietnamese are housed in the department of Asian and Asian American Studies. AAAS offers Bachelor's Degrees in Chinese Studies, and Japanese, as well as a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Japanese.

RGRLL: Arabic, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish are all housed in the department of Romance, German, Russian Languages and Literatures. RGRLL offers four B.A. programs in French, German, Italian Studies, and Spanish. Minors are also available in all of those areas, as well as in Russian.

LOTE - Languages Other Than English: There are six Commission-approved subject-matter programs in Languages Other Than English: French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish. Candidates who wish to become credentialed in a language other than these six may also demonstrate subject matter competence via CSET in Arabic and Mandarin to qualify for the credential program.

Language Center Information
Welcome to the College of Liberal Arts Language Center. The Language Center labs were installed in Fall, 1999 to provide an easily accessible, state of the art learning environment for language students at California State University, Long Beach. The Language Center provides many resources to enhance the individual study of modern foreign languages. There are currently two labs which deliver digital audio listening capabilities, dedicated foreign language word processing, Internet access, and state of the art language software. The facilities are open to the entire California State University, Long Beach community. Priority use, however, is reserved for the students and instructional staff of modern languages.
The College of Liberal Arts maintains two language labs located in adjacent rooms in the Language Arts Building. Room LAB 305 is a state of the art digital multimedia computer lab. There are 24 student stations and an instructor station which operate in concert to provide a powerful new dimension to language learning. LAB 306 houses 37 computers and an instructor station equipped with foreign language word processing capabilities, Internet access, and dedicated language learning software. Location

The Language Center is located on the third floor of the Language Arts Building (LAB), on the south end of campus near the main library, in rooms LAB 305 and 306.
