• June 29, 2010 - Steering Committee chair meets with subcommittee chairs to explain their responsibilities and distribute certification materials.
• July 2, 2010 - Conference call with NCAA
• July 14, 2010 - Subcommittee chairs meet with representative from Office of Institutional Research to discuss data collection and to discuss procedures for first meeting of the subcommittees.
• August 2010 - CSULB president appoints members of Steering Committee and subcommittees.
• August 16, 2010 - Conference call with NCAA
• August 18, 2010 - Subcommittee chairs meet.
• August 23, 2010 - First day of fall semester
• August 23, 2010 - Steering Committee convenes for first meeting.
• August 27, 2010 - NCAA certification self study announced publicly at annual convocation.
• September 2010 - Subcommittee chairs convene subcommittees. Subcommittees develop work plan to collect, evaluate and prepare responses to self-study operating principle questions; submit work plans to Steering Committee chair.
• September 2010 - CSULB issues press release announcing that the university will begin a year-long study of its athletics program.

• September 8, 2010 - NCAA Self-Study Orientation Videoconference held.
• September 2010 - January 2011 - Subcommittees work on self-study reports.

• March 11, 2011 - Steering Committee chair makes presentation to Staff Council regarding NCAA certification self-study process.

• March 16, 2011 - Steering Committee chair makes presentation to Athletics Department coaches and staff regarding NCAA certification self-study process.
• March 28 - April 1, 2011 - Spring break (no classes)

• March 30, 2011 - Steering Committee chairs makes presentation to Athletics Department regarding NCAA certification self-study process.
• April 2011 - Draft self-study report is posted on university's NCAA athletics certification website.
• April 2011 - CSULB issues press release to announce that the draft self-study report is available for review.
• April 2011 - Self-study report editor and Steering Committee staff revise draft of self-study report in response to comments from campus community. Final draft of self-study report submitted to President Alexander for approval.
• April 13, 2011 - Conference call with NCAA
• April 14, 2011 - Steering Committee chair makes presentation to Academic Senate regarding NCAA certification self-study process.
• April 27, 2011 - Steering Committee meets and approves self-study report and plans for improvement.
• April 28, 2011 - President Alexander approves self-study report and plans for improvement.
• April 28, 2011 - Conference call with NCAA
• May 2011 - Final self-study report is posted on university's NCAA athletics certification website.
• May 11, 2011 - Conference call with NCAA
• May 13, 2011 - CSULB submits self-study report to NCAA (via Athletics Certification System).
• May 13 - June 2011 - NCAA staff liaison reviews report for preliminary issues.
• May 24, 2011 - Conference call with NCAA
• May 27, 2011 -Last day of spring semester
• July - August 2011 - NCAA Committee on Athletics Certification reviews self-study report and approves issues.
• August 22, 2011 - First day of fall semester
• Two weeks prior to site visit - CSULB responds to issues identified in NCAA analysis. Steering Committee and subcommittees draft response to Peer-Review Team's Report (if necessary).
• October 12 - 14, 2011 - Peer-Review Team visits CSULB.
• Within two weeks of campus visit - Peer-Review Team's report sent to CSULB president for response (via Athletics Certification System).
• December 16, 2011 - CSULB responds to Peer-Review Team's report
• December 22, 2011 - Last day of fall semester
• December 26, 2011 - January 2, 2012 - University closed (Winter Holiday Closure)
• January 23, 2012 - First day of spring semester
• February 2012 - CSULB receives NCAA decision on certification
• March 26 - 30, 2012 - Spring break week (no classes)
• April 2012 - Certification decision is announced.
